Lean and efficient

The wholesale market administration is located on the Beusselstrasse site directly in the eastern front section of the fruit and vegetable hall (gate no. 3) and is responsible for managing the facilities at Beusselstrasse. Its tasks include letting the commercial areas and maintaining the entire premises.

Around 30 employees ensure that the wholesale market operates smoothly in terms of finances, safety and logistics. In its operations, the wholesale market tries to achieve the greatest possible degree of independence. The wholesale market premises are monitored 24 hours a day.

The operating company of the wholesale market, Berliner Großmarkt GmbH, is managed by its director, Mr. Andreas Foidl, and his deputy, Mr. Michael Bahr, sales manager and authorised representative [ppa]. The management reports to the five-member supervisory board, which is chaired by the State Secretary of Berlin's Department of Economic Affairs, Dr. Jens-Peter Heuer.

Berliner Großmarkt GmbH is owned by the Federal State of Berlin.
