The market hall accommodates "Blumengrossmarkt Berlin Wirtschaftsgenossenschaft eG", the association of the local wholesale flower traders. The products on offer largely consist of cut flowers, florist supplies and some plants.

However, the days of the wholesale flower market at Friedrichstrasse are numbered. Currently, a significantly larger complex is being erected on BGM's Beusselstrasse premises, spanning a sales area of around 12,100 square metres. Compared to the existing market hall, the new wholesale flower market will offer a much broader range of products (5,700 square metres space for regional specialist gardening supplies and a tree nursery, 4,600 square metres for cut flowers, 1,800 square metres for florist supplies), and deliveries to the market will be greatly facilitated. Over the coming months, a large number of wholesalers will be relocating from the Friedrichstrasse premises to the new hall.

The opening is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2010.
